Guest Guidelines

House Rules

These guidelines keep Northwoods Escape comfortable, safe, and welcoming for every guest. They apply to both villas.

These are Northwoods Escape's house rules. They'll be included in the rental agreement you accept when you book.

Stay Times

  • Minimum stay: 3 nights
  • Check-in: 3:00 PM
  • Checkout: 11:00 AM

Pets

  • Dogs are welcome with prior approval.
  • Maximum of 2 dogs per stay.
  • A $25 non-refundable pet deposit must be paid before check-in.
  • Guests must clean up after pets inside and outside.
  • Pets may not be left unattended for extended periods.
  • Guests are responsible for pet-related damage beyond normal wear.
  • Costs exceeding the deposit may be charged separately.

Weight or breed limits, designated pet areas, furniture access, and crating requirements will be published before booking opens.

Occupancy

  • No more than 10 people may be present at a unit (North Villa or South Villa) at one time, including daytime visitors.
  • No more than 4 people may stay overnight at a unit.
  • All overnight guests must be registered.
  • Unregistered overnight guests are not permitted without written approval.

Parking

  • No street parking.
  • Use designated off-street parking only.
  • Do not block entrances, neighboring property, road access, or snow-removal areas.

Quiet Hours

Quiet hours are 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM. Guests must keep televisions, music, conversations, and outdoor activity at a respectful volume.

Marijuana

  • Marijuana — smoking, vaping, edibles, or any other form — is not permitted anywhere on the property, indoors or outdoors.

Parties and Events

No parties, events, or large gatherings without prior written approval.

Indoor Hockey

No hockey inside either villa. This includes floor hockey, street hockey, hockey sticks, pucks, balls, nets, and similar equipment or activities. These activities must remain outside.

General Expectations

  • Treat the property and furnishings carefully.
  • Lock doors and windows when leaving.
  • Report damage or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Do not move furniture between villas or outdoors.
  • Do not remove supplies, furniture, linens, decorations, or equipment.
  • Children must be supervised.
  • Guests are responsible for everyone in their reservation and all visitors.
  • Do not enter locked owner or maintenance areas.
  • Do not tamper with cameras, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, locks, fire extinguishers, or other safety equipment.
  • No illegal activity.
  • No candles, fireworks, or unauthorized open flames.
  • No unauthorized commercial activity or photography.
  • No charging electric vehicles without approval.
  • Do not flush wipes, feminine products, paper towels, grease, food, or foreign objects.
  • Do not pour grease or food waste into kitchen drains.
  • Do not operate ATVs, snowmobiles, or recreational vehicles on lawns or undesignated areas.

Grill Rules

  • Clean the grill after use.
  • Turn off all burners.
  • Close the propane tank at the source.
  • Do not leave an active grill unattended.
  • Keep children and pets away from the grill.
  • Do not move the grill from its designated location.
  • Do not use the grill indoors or inside an enclosed area.

Checkout Instructions

  • Start the dishwasher when dishes were used.
  • Place trash in designated bins.
  • Turn off lights and televisions.
  • Turn off the electric fireplace.
  • Turn off unnecessary appliances.
  • Clean the grill and close the propane tank when used.
  • Close and lock doors and windows.
  • Set the thermostat according to checkout instructions.
  • Follow the check-out access instructions provided for your stay.
  • Check for personal belongings.

Violations

Violations may result in additional cleaning charges, damage charges, loss of applicable deposits, removal from the property, or termination of the reservation when permitted by the signed rental agreement and applicable law.
